Now you can stream all original HBO content to your FireStick with the HBO Max app. This application is now available for download on the Amazon Appstore.
However, HBO Max is not limited to original HBO movies. It also receives licensed content from various media services and third party distributors. For example, HBO Max has acquired the rights to broadcast the popular sitcoms Friends and The Big Bang Theory.

HBO Max is a paid service that you must subscribe to. So I will first describe the steps for purchasing a subscription, and then the installation steps.
Message: If you are already an HBO cable customer, HBO Max will be free for you. You do not have to pay a separate monthly subscription fee.
Follow the steps below to subscribe to HBO Max:
1. In the browser of your choice, go to https://hbomax.com.
2. Click the REGISTER NOW button on the webpage or the REGISTER button in the upper right corner.
3. Select one of the available subscription plans. At the time of writing this guide, there are two plans available:
- 14.99 per month.
- 69.99 for 6 months
Message: The six-month plan currently offers a 20% discount. Subscription prices may change in the future.
On the next page, enter the required information (including your name and email address) and click the Create Account button.
On the next page, enter your payment and billing information to purchase a subscription to use HBO Max on the FireStick and other devices.
Currently only credit/debit card payments are supported.
To install HBO Max on a FireStick
Now that you’re subscribed to the service, you’ll need to install the HBO Max app on your FireStick to start streaming your favorite content.
HBO Max can be purchased directly from the Amazon store.
Follow these steps to install the application on your Fire TV device:
1. On the FireStick home screen, click Search, and then click

2. Enter the name of the application (e.g. HBO Max) using the on-screen keyboard (entering the first few letters is usually sufficient).
Click on HBO Max when it appears in the search results.
3. Now select the HBO Max tile under Apps and Subscriptions (you may have to scroll down to see this section).
4. Click Get if you are downloading HBO Max to the FireStick for the first time. If you have already downloaded the application, the Download option appears instead.
5. Wait for the FireStick to download and install the application. It may take a minute or two
6. Once the application is installed, click Open to start it.

To use and access HBO Max on a FireStick
Now that you have HBO Max installed on your Fire TV device, let’s see how to access and use the app. If you already know how to do this, you can skip this section.
1. On the FireStick home screen, click on the icon with the three dots in the middle (next to the settings icon on the right).
Message: If you are still using an older version of Fire TV OS, press and hold the Home button on the remote for 5 seconds and tap Apps on the screen that appears.
2. In the next window, select the HBO Max tile and click it to open the application. If you do not see the application in this window, click the All your applications option at the bottom.
3. To move HBO Max to the FireStick home screen, press the menu button (3-line button) on the remote. Click on Move in the context menu on the right. Drag the application to the top row and drop it there.
4. Wait for the HBO Max application to load. This shouldn’t take more than a few seconds.
5. When you start the application for the first time (if you are not logged in), the following screen appears.
Click Sign Up if you are already a subscriber to HBO Max.
If you are not already registered, click on Register Now or follow the registration steps I described in the first section.

6. When you press the Connect button, a window appears with the code

Enter the code that appears on the screen of your FireStick
Message: If you are not already logged in, you will need to log into your HBO Max account in your web browser.
7. This is the HBO Max start screen on the FireStick after you log in.
You can scroll down the page and explore the wide range of content in different categories.
8. If you scroll down, you will also see the HBO Max Hubs category. Here’s a list of all the channels and sources this service draws content from, including HBO, DC, TCM, Cartoon Network, etc.
9. Go back to the top of the HBO Max home screen and tap Browser.
10. When you do this, a pop-up window will appear with a list of different categories
Click on the category of your choice to view its contents.

11. If you have a specific idea in mind, just click the Search button at the top of the home screen to find it.
12. Tap Settings to customize your experience with HBO Max.
13. Under Settings you will find the following settings:
