During World War II the U.S. military and the OSS (now the CIA)
conducted experiments on how best to derail trains, probably to better
guard against and to launch sabotage efforts. This film summarizes their efforts.

Emergency! – Episode 2:18
The paramedics respond to a series of unusual emergencies after treating
an injured woman at a seance.
In October 2012 the California Seismic Safety Commission
coupled with the Univ. of California – San Diego to issue this
video report on seismic testing on proposed hospital construction.
They built a 5-story mockup of a typical hospital on the country's largest
shake table to test the methods under realistic conditions.
This week we have a special treat for you. This is the original pilot episode for Emergency! that was broadcast before the popular series began its first regular season. Until recently, this video has been rarely seen sitnce its initial broadcast on January 20, 1972. In addition to setting the scene for the upcoming series, it correctly addresses the conflict within the medical profession at the time as to the wisdom of establishing the Paramedic program by training firefighters instead of medical professionals. So enjoy this special presentation (and thanks to Carmine S. for catching this for us):
