Fast Recovery Thanks To Many
JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO ON MAY 10 a thief broke into the Harrison Township, Ohio, firehouse and took their tanker for a joyride. You may remember seeing our reports on this crime that we posted HERE and HERE. Read those for all the details.
The thief first crashed into an interior wall before getting it out the door, then drove it about a mile where he crashed through a guardrail and rolled the truck completely destroying it.
The thief was ejected during the roll and later died in the hospital.
The Harrison Twp. VFD immediately set up campaign to help raise the funds needed to replace the tanker and we're happy to report that after just three months they have reached their goal. One of their representatives sent along this email notice:
Some of you may remember the stolen apparatus from Harrison Township in Ross County, Ohio. Through hard work, fundraising, donations and insurance money they were able to purchase a replacement. Tanker 1411 is a new Pierce carrying 2200 gallons of water with a 1000 gpm pump. The department has been using a 1969 loaner truck since the other truck was totaled.
They want to thank all of the Firegeezer fans who donated and supported then during this time.
Great job on the quick recovery, guys. Congratulations.
