Veteran Firefighter Had No Previous Disciplinary Problems
A SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, FIREFIGHTER who has 23 years on the job was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with DUI and with leaving the scene of an accident.
FF Michael Quinn, 43, was driving the ladder truck Friday night when they got an alarm and responded. While crossing an intersection Quinn struck a motocyclist and tossed him 75 feet causing several severe injuries. He did stop the truck and was told to remain there for the police report and to take the standard drug and alcohol test.
Instead, Quinn wandered off and showed up back at his firehouse more than two hours later. When he did, the police arrested him and placed him in jail. He was released sometime Sunday on $65,000 bond.
