Denver Fire Inspector Used City Take-Home Car
A DENVER, COLORADO, FIREFIGHTER who has been on the job for over 30 years is now off the job following his arrest Thursday for child sexual solicitation by internet.
Ronald Michael Asciutto, 59, was caught by a police investigator who was posing as a 15-yr.-old girl online. KMGH-TV continues:
Investigators say Asciutto made contact Wednesday with an online investigator portraying himself as a 15-year-old girl.
"I was sitting idle and not participating in any online communications, when I received an instant message," wrote Investigator Mike Harris in the affidavit for Asciutto's arrest. Harris explained the screen name used to contact him was "DADDY4DAUGHTER."
Asciutto identified himself as a Denver firefighter and gave the name "Ron" during those initial messages, the affidavit says. Harris wrote that the conversation continued for about ten minutes before moving to another system, where Asciutto was using the screen name "asciutto2012." Through the second instant messaging program, Asciutto allegedly sent sexually charged messages or questions.
The imaginary child gave Asciutto a phone number during the instant message conversation, Harris wrote. Asciutto called and spoke with a female investigator who portrayed the teenager.
After that call, the investigators received a slew of explicit text messages from Asciutto. The examples listed in the affidavit include overt descriptions of sexual acts.
Several more explicit text messages followed before Asciutto agreed to meet the teen at a parking lot near the intersection of Depew Street and 20th Avenue.
"Asciutto communicated about going to a park from there and taking the blanket and doing the" sexual acts described in the text messages, the affidavit says.
At 10:52 a.m., Asciutto allegedly drove a white 2012 Toyota with government plates to the parking lot. The arrest document says an officer recognized it was a vehicle belonging to the Denver Fire Department. Asciutto is described as stopping in the lot for about ten seconds before turning around and driving away.
Police officers followed Asciutto to his home and arrested him after he got out of his car. He has been charged with suspicion of Internet luring of a child, Internet sexual exploitation of a child and attempted sexual assault of a child. All of those crimes are felonies.

Asciutto was immediately suspended without pay from the Denver Fire Department. He is scheduled for arraignment on June 13.
