Driver of Other Vehicle Killed
A PRIVATE AMBULANCE OPERATING IN NEWARK, Ohio, was involved in a collision with a car this morning (Tuesday) when the car pulled our of a gas station into the path of the ambulance at 10:25 am.
The ambulance was carrying a patient on a non-emergency transport, no lights or siren, and struck the car on the left side. The 92-yr.-old driver of the car was killed immediately.
One of the EMT's in the back of the ambulance received a serious head injury and was airlifted to a hospital in Columbus. The other EMT, the patient, and the ambulance driver were all transported to another hospital in Newark with less serious but non-life threatening injuries.
