"Moving Out So That Others Can Move Up…."
THE FIRE CHIEF OF THE AuSable Forks (New York) Volunteer Fire Department was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by the New York State Police. Jason Whisher, 32, who is also the treasurer of the VFD was charged with "larceny of funds and forgery of checks," both Class D felonies.

Police say that they were tipped off by some FD members who discovered the discrepancies in the VFD's bank accounts and statements. He is accused of taking more than $3,000 from the department.
Whisher was released on his own recognizance and will return to court on Monday, January 28.
