At Least Two Others Damaged
A FIRE BROKE OUT WEDNESDAY MORNING in the oceanfront town of Manasquan, New Jersey, one of the areas hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. Early accounts say that four of five homes were gutted and at least two more damaged by the blaze.

All of the homes were currently unoccupied partly because they are primarily seasonal rental properties and the regular residences are still being remodeled following the hurricane damage. All of them are very closely situated to each other.

The call was dispatched at 5:20 am Eastern and was quickly elevated to a second alarm as the first-in units found heavy fire showing with the major exposure hazards. Withing four minutes of their arrival, the two homes on each side of the fire building had ignited.
TV News12 has filed this early video report:
The fire was marked under control at 6:35 am. The cause is not yet known. Electric and gas utilities have been restored to the area after the storm, but most of the properties in this area were still unconnected while restoration work was going on.
