Rollover While Making a Right Turn
A WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP (Indiana) FIRE DEPARTMENT FIREFIGHTER died Sunday night after the tanker he was driving rolled over and wrecked while responding on a call.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department announced that the truck was responding to a grass fire around 8:40 pm Sunday night when the driver was making a right turn onto Butler Rd. and apparently the load shifted and pitched the tanker over. The truck rolled several times and struck three utility poles bringing live electric wires down. According to the Journal Gazette, the fire units responding to the wreck had to wait for the power company to deactivate the lines before they could extricate the victim.
The driver was critically injured in the wreck and died later at the hospital. He has not yet been publicly identified and it is believed that he was the only passenger on board.
