Thief "Caught on Tape"
A MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMBULANCE WAS STOLEN Wednesday afternoon while the crew was tending to a patient inside a government building in Norristown. But the thief doesn't know about things like surveillance cameras and dashcams, so he was unwittingly documenting his entire escapade.
Do you know this dimwitted dirtbag?
The Plymouth Ambulance unit was dispatched to a county welfare department office for a woman having seizures around 4:30 pm and while they were inside with their patient the thief jumped into the cab and took the ambulance for a joyride through traffic with the lights and siren activated, blowing redlights and narrowly missing oncoming cars and cross traffic.
WPVI-TV Ch. 6 Philadelphia shows portions of the surveillance tapes in this video report:
About an hour after the episode began, police found the ambulance abandoned in an apartment complex, apparently intact and without any immediately discernable damage. But as you can see, they have a good description of their suspect.
