Clash of the alternative racers
After a one-hour red flag, the #7 Toyota TS030 Hybrid punts the #0 Nissan DeltaWing off the course in the Porshe curves:

The shunt broke the steering. that could not be repaired after 90 minutes of effort by DeltaWing driver Satoshi Motoyama. Because the vehicle could not drive back to the pits, the mechanics were reduced to shouting instructions to Motoyama through the fence.

Toyota driver Anthony Davidson suffered two fractures of the lower spine.
