Wednesday Morning on The Real Washington's Birthday
I can't help it, but I have got to bring you a Volleyball Update already. It was just a month ago that I cornered you and told you about upper-echelon girl's volleyball team starring the GeezerGranDotter, Presley. If you missed it, CLICK HERE to go back and catch up on what we're talking about. Her team was just assembled in November and they have but three months of practices and last month's first interstate tournament behind them.
Over this 3-day weekend the girls played in the team's second tournament that was held in the D. C. Convention Center, and it was quite a production. The huge room had 84 courts set up for the 7,000 girls and their 650+ teams to play three days of round-robin and elimination games.
"Our" team, as I mentioned before, is in the Under-14 age bracket and that one had 96 teams competing against each other.

When it was all over after non-stop play for three days, our group of upstarts came in 3rd place (out of 96). To me, that's a good testament to good coaching along with having a talented collection of players. I hope they don't get all over-confident after this.
