THURSDAY EVENING JUST BEFORE 8 PM in Dijon, France, a fire engine responding to an apartment fire drifted off the road on a curve and crashed into two parked cars.

After the initial collision, the Fourgon Pompe Tonne (the fire engine) rolled onto its side and came to rest.

Two of the six firefighters onboard were injured, one of them seriously.

The French fire service tries to keep accident information confidential and will not release any details.

La Bien Public has the story and a 26-image photo gallery HERE.

1st. Hope the injured firefighter are alright and wish them a speedy recovery.

2nd. Apparently these Firefighters have not seen the 16 Life safety Initatives?

3rd. what penalty will the Driver Operator and Co.Officer suffer.

4th. Since the Fire Service in France is part of the Military, secrecy is probably the normal state of thinking over there. Its  probably not like here  in the U.S. where you 300 plus page, After Action Review’s as in the Prince William, Baltimore, J. Gordon Routely  Charleston SSS Fire or “The  Station Fire” in Ca..

I believe the only military FD’s are Paris (controlled by the Army) and Marseilles (controlled by the Navy). The rest of the country is regional fire services that are paid in the larger cities and volunteer, paid-on-call everywhere else. I will ask Fireball what the penalties for wrecking a pumper might be and why the secrecy.
