Wednesday Morning News Hot Off the Ticker
CHILLICOTHE UPDATE: The Chillicothe Fire Department's new alarm system and sprinkler restoration is just about completed. (See the earlier Firegeezer report HERE.) The Chillicothe Gazette is reporting today:
The installation of a new fire alarm system at Chillicothe Fire Department's Station 1 was completed Tuesday. The repairs to the sprinkler system also are anticipated to be completed this week, and department officials are hopeful the systems' official tests, as required by the State Fire Marshal's Office, will be Friday.
Although installed, the department will have to continue fire watch until the system test is done –which requires a witness from the fire marshal's office.
At least 3 more days of firewatch duty lay ahead.

But the rest of the city officials have lined up in a circular firing squad while trying to shed responsibility for the missteps. CLICK HERE to read the full story.
MSNBC has posted an in-depth interiew with a "lower middle-class" fire dispatcher in Connecticut. Overall, though, it's a pretty good story. CLICK HERE and see what you think about it.

Galloway, Tennessee's Volunteer Fire Chief, Bobby Kellum was indicted along with ten other people by a Fayette County grand jury following a Tennessee Highway Patrol investigation into an auto theft ring and "chop shop" operation.

The roundup also nabbed a former county commissioner, the mayor's son-in-law, and Chief Kellum's wife. The Galloway city manager has relieved Kellum of his position in the FD.
