THE ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, CITY COUNCIL ANNOUNCED TUESDAY that Fire Chief Larry Hodge will be retiring effective February 26, 2011 after serving 40 years in the fire service. He came to Round Rock in 2005 to become its Fire Chief.
The past two years have been contentious for Hodge primarily due to conflicts with the firefighters union local. The FF’s Association has recently won a lawsuit against the city after the appeals court upheld a judgement that a firefighter’s rights had been violated when he was refused to have representation at a disciplinary hearing. Earlier this year the firefighters announced a vote of no confidence in the chief.
