A LARGE FIRE SWEPT through apartment buildings in Chambery, France, Friday night.

The blaze began in the attic of a 4-story building that fronts three streets, then spread to the adjoining apartments. The entire roof and the top floor were burned out, and every other unit was damaged by the fire that affected all four floors.
About 100 firefighters were needed to bring it under control, but all the residents were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.
