PALMVIEW, TEXAS, FIREFIGHTERS SNIFFED OUT the location for an accident call Wednesday when the pungeant harvest scattered by an onion truck covered the street.

The tractor-trailer rig loaded with onions went out of control, knocked down two utility poles and crashed into a home. When the FD arrived they found the truck almost fully embedded in the house with only the rear half of the trailer outside.
Ignoring the street sign, the driver tried the shortcut anyway.

The driver was still in the cab and was conscious, but was seriously injured and had to be removed by the firefighters. Nobody was home at the time that the house was heavily damaged. Onions filled the house and covered the lawn and street outside.
It’s not yet known what caused the driver to lose control and the accident is still under investigation.
