HAPLESS BURGLARS ARE FOUND EVERYWHERE. Today (Monday) they showed up in Paris, France, where the banks are closed on Mondays. Thinking they could just smash their way into the bank, grab a bunch of loot out of the drawer and make their getaway, they put their plan into action.
Parking their “getaway scooter” out in front of the building at 1:30 pm this afternoon, the 2 men then brought a Peugot sedan to the site and putting it in reverse, they smashed the little sedan against the front door. When that failed to make an entry, they took out a cutting torch and tried to burn their way in. But the torch set the car on fire instead.

Grabbing their still-empty bag and being watched by a curious crowd of onlookers, they ran to the getaway scooter, but it wouldn’t start.

Next they tried to commandeer a car being driven by a 50-yr.-old man, but when he got out of his car he apparently took his keys with him and they failed to get it started, too. By now they were getting desparate and the fire brigade was on the way. They were last seen running down the street. Police have a description and are looking for them.
