We’re very pleased and proud that we have been nominated for the “Fire/EMS Blog of the Year 2009.”

The contest, the first of its kind limited to fire and EMS-related blogs, is being conducted by FireCritic.com and supported by many of the “movers and shakers” in the 1st-responder blogosphere. One of the main purposes of the contest is to expose some good, worthwhile and entertaining blogs to you that you may not have heard of before. Of the dozens of blogs that are posted every day, there are bound to be a few that you haven’t had a chance to read yet, mainly because you didn’t know about them. So here’s your opportunity to widen your fire/rescue/EMS readings, and it’s also a great way for you to share with others the blogs that you like best by nominating your favorites.
The contest has two phases. First is the nominating period that is going on now. YOU can help out by nominating your favorite(s) anytime between now and 3 pm Eastern on Tuesday January 5. Also, you can nominate one per day, if you want to recommend two or more of your favorites.
A panel of judges will go over all the nominees and then select the top ten entries that will be moved on to the second phase, voting for your favorite. The balloting will begin at midnight Jan. 5/6 and will be open until January 12.
You can read all the rules and details at Contest Central HERE, and then follow the directions to nominate your choice. And then when we see who the top ten nominees are, let’s all get on the bandwagon and start voting. This will be a grand opportunity for all of us to promote the Fire/EMS community and hopefully find you some new outlets for information and advancement. So let’s go and start nominating! Wednesday, we vote!
We’d better take a time to get this equipment checked first, though. I’ll see how the Sunday breakfast is coming and make some more coffee. See you back in the day room.
