In 1884 I responded with my VFC to a burning house. Vented it and entered. We had just cooled the overhead and one of the back rooms went up in a sheet of white flames like a volcano then hundreds of sharp pops. We made a quick retreat and commenced using the deck gun from a safe distance. Upon entering it we found tens of thousands of rounds of expended and live ammo and guns a-pleanty to start a small war. The white flash was several pounds of loose gun powder in cans flashing and not exploding. In such cases a quick retreat is the best plan. Or better yet if you know the place has got a lot of ammo don't go in.
