THE SPENCER, IOWA, DAILY REPORTER IS telling us this morning:
A 61-year-old Sioux Rapids woman is being investigated for theft in the second degree in an alleged scheme to take thousands of dollars from the Sioux Rapids Ambulance Service.
Routine auditing of the ambulance company’s books disclosed the possibility that some funds had been used “inappropriately” and the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s office was notified in October. Following an investigation, Betty Ludwig was arrested and charged with a felony. She has been booked and then released on bond pending a hearing.
