A MONONGALIA COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA, AMBULANCE ROLLED OVER IN a single-vehicle accident Tuesday night injuring five passengers on board. The early report is sketchy and does not relate the name of the ambulance service, but the State Journal newspaper says that the ambulance was operating with lights and siren while en route to the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown when it hit the median, crossed over the road and rolled twice, according to the Monongalia Sheriff’s department.
Along with the two paramedics, the ambulance was carrying two nurses and a newborn infant. All five of them were injured and the newborn and one of the nurses had to be admitted in the same hospital that they were destined for. The presence of two nurses with a newborn indicates that it might have been a preemie transport, but the details including the origin of the call haven’t been released yet.
