McMansions on big lots -- what's the need for water supply?

It makes the FD job easier, but looking at the amount of fire present before their arrival, and assuming there's significant smoke / heat damage inside already, it's already a tear down for the insurance company since that's cheaper on these woodchip, glue, and vinyl buildings then renovating. From the few pics here, looks like the lots are big enough there's no significant exposure problems.

Residential sprinklers would've impacted the loss, but not municipal water supply.
