3 Alarms in Washington Commercial Bldg.

Comments Off

A FIRE IN A HOME-IMPROVEMENT STORE IN ABERDEEN, WASHINGTON, Tuesday night went to 3 alarms and completely gutted the building.  The Stouffer-Moore Floor Covering & Cabinets store was closed when the fire broke out around 6 pm, so the FD does not expect there to be any victims in the building.

The structure was fully stocked with flammables such as carpeting and adhesives, and was heavily involved when the FD arrived.  KING-TV Ch. 5 has this video report from the fireground:

The walls were cracking early on and no attempt was made at an interior attack.  The FD contained the fire to the warehouse-type building, sparing an adjoining shop that had boats, RV’s and propane tanks inside.

All the employees had gone for the day, so there is no early determination on the cause or point of origin.
