Ref: the laptops. I held off purchasing one until the Win 7 comes out this month. I didn't want to buy the Vista so close to being able to do better.

The feedback that I got from the request for suggestions was very valuable, both in hearing what people liked as well as what they didn't like. I'm 99% certain that I'm going to go with the Dell.
