* The IAFF is spreading the word about Capitol Records’ attempt to squelch a recording that benefits a charity devoted to assisting police and firefighters who suffer personally from local disasters. Capitol’s reasoning is petty and does nothing but increase the animosity that the big studios have already generated. Read what’s going on HERE.
* In May of last year Firegeezer reported on a terrible firetruck crash which happened when a Massillon, Ohio, man pulled out of a side street into the path of a responding Quint (see article HERE). The resulting crash killed the man driving the van and his passenger, a young boy. Chief Billy Goldfeder is reporting at Firefighter Close Calls that the man’s widow has filed a civil suit against both the quint driver and the OIC for reasons that he talks about HERE.
