Firefighter Tries to Get Wife "Snuffed"

Comments Off

THIS MUST BE “MURDER WEEK” IN THE FIRE WORLD  (see our earlier posting just below).

A EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, FIREFIGHTER is in jail today after trying to hire a so-called “hit man” to kill his wife for him.  According to the Eureka Springs police, Cody Harp paid money to a man who he thought was going to murder his wife for pay.  Unfortunately for Cody, the “hit man” was an undercover FBI agent.

KHBS-TV tells us:

Harp worked as a firefighter in Eureka Springs, served as a reserve police officer, and was even a member of the Carroll County SWAT team. Now, he’s being charged with putting a hit on his own wife.

Police said they learned that Harp was trying to hire a hit man to kill his wife last week.

”The information was that this individual was actively seeking someone to kill his wife, so we acted on it right away — as soon as we got it,” said Joe Barbalace, a detective with the Eureka Springs Police Department.

One of the reasons police brought in the FBI was because, as a firefighter, Harp would have recognized any of the Eureka Springs officers. Police also said Harp was in the process of divorcing his wife, and the couple was embroiled in a custody battle.

Harp’s chances of winning his custody battle diminished tremendously after he was photographed and recorded giving the undercover detective the cash and instructions on what he wanted done with the money.
