THE SMALL FARMING COMMUNITY OF ALLENTON, WISCONSIN, is stirring with the disclosure yesterday that a 59-yr.-old man attempted to hire somebody to murder their fire chief, John Breuer.  The man who was being solicited to kill him contacted the police and turned over a telephone recording that he made of Robert Belk offering to pay him $1,500 to shoot Breuer.

The incident has nothing to do with fire department operations other than it is the fire chief who is the victim.  Press reports are saying that it involved some conflict over a woman.
