A 42-YR.-OLD WOMAN AND FIVE OF HER SIX DAUGHTERS perished in a fire in their Stockholm, Sweden, apartment building Saturday night.

The family lived in the apartment above the unit where the fire began and the woman was escorting her family down the apartment elevator when they became trapped. The youngest child that died is age 1, the oldest is 16. The sixth child is in critical condition. One other resident of the building was hospitalized. Local news media are saying that they were killed from smoke inhalation.
“There are no signs to suggest that a crime is behind the fire, but we have started an investigation into the cause of the fire,” Stockholm police spokeswoman Karin Solberg said. According to the fire department, the blaze itself was easily extinguished and was out within an hour of the arrival of 50 FF’s.
