THE LONDON, ONTARIO, POLICE AND FIRE INVESTIGATORS have now been joined by the Ontario Fire Marshal Office in investigating a string of perhaps 20 suspicious fires that have been set in the last few months.
Most of them have been vacant buildings and one of them was a hotel, destroyed on May 12. This past Thursday a house that was boarded up after having a fire just three days earlier was burned again and gutted.

This past Sunday police arrested two men who were caught lighting a box on fire next to a vacant house and they were charged with arson. The London police chief says that they have some leads, but so far they don’t have enough evidence to make an arrest for any other outstanding cases. A lot of the arsons are still awaiting results from the forensic lab.

The 100-yr.-old Embassy Hotel burned just two weeks after it closed. It was scheduled to be demolished to make way for a condo project.
