A nice, quiet Sunday morning so far. I hope yours is peaceful, too. Here in the East we’ve been having a bit of a heat wave during the past week. Nothing crushing, though. In my little corner of the atlas we’ve even escaped most of the terrible storms that have been rolling through the midwest. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it for fear of jinxing our good luck?
I want to let you know about a “new” old fire website that has re-directed its focus. The Western Pennsylvania Firefighting website has expanded into a timely blog format with a nice combination of regional fire news, blog reports and a mix of historical articles. Editor Jeff Bertok is also including some news videos from the area.

My frontiersmen-ancestors settled in that area until the frontier moved west again, so I’m always interested in what’s going on in that part of the country that has some of the nicest scenery east of the Rockies. He is calling the website Hoopie World, and I don’t know where that monniker came from. But I admit that it’s original. So check out Western Pennsylvania Firefighting News & Information website and add it to your book marks HERE.
But before we get wrapped up with more fire videos, let’s get this equipment checked out. I’m heading to the Bunn-O-Matic to make a fresh pot.
