AN INDIANA MAN ALONG WITH HIS WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN were all killed in a particularly brutal wreck on I-65 in Lake County early Friday morning. Brian Workman, 33, his wife Joanna, 31 and their three children ages 13, 8 and 1 were from Hobart.

They were traveling south in the Interstate shortly after leaving home for a vacation trip to Disney World and to visit the children’s grandmother who had never seen the youngest child.
They came upon a traffic backup caused by a car being towed off of the roadway creating a stoppage. The Workman car was stopped right behind a semi-truck when another one came upon the stopped traffic. The truck couldn’t stop in time and rear-ended the Wormans’ pickup truck, driving it into the rear of the first truck. The collsion completely demolished the pickup and it started burning, the fire eventually spreading to the semi-truck that had hit it.

The Lake County coroner prounounced all the family members dead on the scene. Both truck drivers escaped uninjured.
