A WOMAN WHO SERVED AS SECRETARY FOR THE Keystone Hook & Ladder VFD in Muncy, Pennsylvania, has been charged with stealing more than $170,000 from the fire company.
Nichole Rupert, 37, was arrested and appeared in court Thursday where she waived her right to a preliminary hearing. The judge then set July 27 for her arraignment and let her remain free on $15,000 supervised bail. She is facing 1,100 separate charges.
WNEP-TV Ch. 16, Scranton has this video report on yesterday’s appearance:
The Williamsport Sun-Gazette reports:
Borough police officers were seen carrying boxes of evidence into the courtroom, files county assistant District Attorney Mary Kilgus said will be used to prosecute Rupert for personal purchases made at the expense of the fire company.
Kilgus commended police Chief Richard Sutton for four months of devoted research, and she claims Rupert used the money to buy hot tubs, vacations, ATVs, guns, a tanning bed and other items.
