A MAJOR FIRE AT A MARINA IN ESSEX, ENGLAND, began shortly after 8:30 am today (Wednesday) GMT.
The Colchester Gazette is reporting:
Villagers in Mayland, Steeple, Rodwell and Tillingham are under threat from toxic smoke from a blaze at Mayland. Cylinders and chemicals are involved in the incident.
The fire service says it (the smoke) is mainly blowing out to sea but there is a chance it may spread to surrounding villages.
More than 50 firefighters and 11 fire crews are battling the blaze and are being hampered by a severe shortage of water.
The fire has spread to two portable buildings and four boats. Collapse of the first building is imminent.

Update:
The fire has consumed two buildings including the one where the fire started which has collapsed.
Assistant Divisional Officer, Neil Fenwick, said, “The building has now completely collapsed. It contained five or six boats, which have been destroyed. Crews have worked very hard and faced severe water shortages because of the remote location and the fact that the tide was out.”
The building was used for carpentry work and it is thought the blaze was caused by a spark which lit a pile of sawdust.
Fire crews are still on the scene mopping up the hot spots. No number has been given yet on how many boats were destroyed.
