LANSING, MICHIGAN, FIREFIGHTERS ARE STILL ON THE SCENE of a major fire that destroyed Discount Dave’s Buy Rite Furniture Store on Sunday afternoon.

A water-flow alarm was transmitted around 11 am and the FD found fire in the upper floors of the 3-story building. Eight engine companies fought the fire that also caused heavy damage to a next-door nightspot called the Cadillac Club, which used to be a popular bowling alley in that part of the city known as REO Town.

The roof came in early in the operation and the building is a total loss. It was completely filled with furniture store-type loads. The fire is out now, but the cause is still undetermined.
