Fire Marshal Murder Trial Update

Comments Off

THE MURDER TRIAL OF JANET MERCEREAU, accused of murdering her husband FDNY Fire Marshal Douglas Mercereau, continued yesterday.  (See the Firegeezer update from yesterday HERE.)

The prosecution continued to lay out the evidence that we had listed yesterday and included an item not previously released to the public.  They had photos showing a dust pan and the broom in the dishwasher.  They had already disclosed last year that she had run the pistol through the dishwasher, too.

One change concerning the evidence was the judge’s decision to allow the shell casings from the basement “practice” area to be allowed to be introduced after all.

The Staten Island Advance has a summary of yesterday’s testimony HERE.
The widow Mercereau is facing 25 years-to-life if she’s convicted.
