NICHOLAS GIANQUITTI WAS FOUND GUILTY OF 2nd-degree murder and discharging a firearm in commission of a violent crime, the shooting death of Cranston, Rhode Island, Fire Lieutenant James Pagano.
The jury advised the judge that they had reached a verdict around 2:30 this afternoon and after Gianquitti was brought in to the courtroom to face the jurors, they announced their verdict at 2:55 pm.
The pronouncement brought tears of relief to the many family members of James Pagano. Gianquitti was taken back to the jail where he will be held without bond while awaiting sentencing. He faces up to life imprisonment.
