Where There's Smoke ……

OR TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY, “THE BEST-LAID PLANS….” still went all topsy Saturday night when the Millersville, Tennessee, fire department held a drill in an abandoned house.

The plan called for filling the house with smoke for some search and rescue practice.  And then the firefighters  got inside.

WSMV Ch. 4 Nashville shows what happened next:

A Police Report?? come on this is stupid. At least it didn’t do any damage!

Had this been an “unplanned” fire, would the neighbors made such a big stink? I agree, stupid!

There are plenty of ways to simulate “heavy smoke” conditions that don’t involve smoke barrels (glad wrap, flash hood, fog machines, etc.). Sure, none of these methods are as realistic as actual smoke, but they remove the risk of starting a house fire.
