AN 18-YR.-OLD DRIVER IN FLOYD COUNTY, Virginia, died early Saturday morning after driving his pickup truck into the path of an ambulance.
The Floyd County Rescue Squad ambulance was returning from Radford after leaving a patient at a hospital there and was returning to its station with 3 medics on board. State Police say that Mitchell Gregory Hall of Floyd was parked on the side of the road in his 1992 Ford Ranger pick-up truck when he decided to pull out onto the roadway and hit the ambulance head-on.
Hall, who was not wearing a seat belt, died on the scene. The three EMS workers were all belted and suffered minor injuries. The ambulance is believed to be unrepairable.
