The Fort Wayne News-Sentinal reports:
Patrick Feeley, an assistant chief, and Brad Hite, department treasurer, accused the Reids of using a township credit card that was supposed to be for departmental purchases for personal use, according to the Reid’s arrest affidavits written by Det. Brian L. Sell of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department. Hite said James Reid was receiving checks as reimbursement for what turned out to be phantom purchases, Sell wrote.
Sell said he was given a statement from Kroger supermarket that showed $1,153 was charged to the department account. Hite said the account was supposed to be for fundraisers and victim assistance.
In addition, they used township funds for tools and materials to work on their house.
