“DUDLEY,” A VIETNAMESE POT-BELLIED PIG GOT HIMSELF into trouble the other day when he didn’t “do right.” Dudley, you see, lives on the first floor of the house he shares with Cynthia Taylor who has kept him around for six years.
But Dudley threw caution to the wind and went upstairs and quickly found himself stranded. It seems that his little legs aren’t compatible with going downstairs carrying all that ham. And he weighs way too much for her to carry him.

Dudley wonders just what all is happening?
So who ya’ gonna call? Naturally, Cynthia called 9-1-1 and explained to the dispatcher that she had a pig trapped on the second floor of her house. The firefighters at Station 10, St. Petersburg Fire Dept., were sent over to help out. Using a little bit of coaxing and the display of a tray of food, they escorted Dudley down the stairs to safety in a couple of minutes.
In 28 years, firefighter Brad Westphal has never had a rescue call quite like this one. “We’ve gotten dogs and cats and birds, ferrets, but first time for a pig.”

It should be the last time, too. Taylor is going to put up a child guard at the foot of the stairs now.
