A QUEENSLAND (AUSTRALIA) PARAMEDIC WAS INJURED TODAY (Sunday) when a 6-inch bolt that was probably tossed off a highway overpass came crashing through the windshield. The ambulance was responding to an incident for a man unconscious in a park when the bolt struck the windshield and sent glass shards into the driver’s eyes.

He managed to pull over and the other paramedic on board took over the driving and they continued on the call. Fortunately a 2nd ambulance was also dispatched on the emergency and the injured medic was able to get timely aid and transportation to the hospital where he was released later in the day.
Police are investigating the incident. They have interviewed people who were close to the scene of the incident and are examining footage from traffic cameras.
