A SAN FRANCISCO NEIGHBORHOOD IS HAVING a rash of arsons in Porta-Potties that are set up at construction sites. The Russian Hill community is undergoing several home renovations and the contractors usually have one on site for their workers.

So far in the past few weeks, six of them have been torched, always from the inside of the unlocked plastic latrines. The most recent plastic puddle was created Wednesday morning and so far nobody has been able to discern a motive for the smelly misadventures. But the investigators want to get this case wiped up as soon as possible.
