After barely a year on the job, this past May he was fired by the township for financial irregularities showing up in the FD’s accounts.  The case was referred to the Allen County Sheriff’s Dept. who investigated it along with the State Board of Accounts.  On Monday they released a report on their audit that shows Reid pilfered more than $26,000 from the taxpayers.  The case has been sent to the county prosecutor for action.

The report shows that Reid spent more than $2,200 for his personal groceries, $550 for a vacuum cleaner and $12,000 by cashing checks made out to himself.  There were many other items such as kitchen cabinets and an air conditioner for a motor home.
