Hiring on as a firefighter in 1988, Chief Shannon rose through the ranks to his current position.  He will be replacing Dennis McKone who has been serving as acting-chief since last year when then-Chief Charles Querry left the department.  McKone will retire with 40 yrs. service when Shannon takes office on November 17.
