MADISON, CONNECTICUT, HAS BEEN THE CENTER of a series of prostitution raids over the past few weeks that have brought some bad light onto the city’s public safety departments.  Recently five Madison police officers were fired for various allegations of misconduct, including soliciting prostitution, theft and threatening witnesses.

Thursday night the chief of the Madison Ambulance Association was napped in a sting operation which was part of a continuing program called Operation:  Prostitution Reduction.  Steven Shaw, 30, was picked up with nine other men Thursay night in a sweep targeting an area known for prostitution.  Shaw, married whose wife is reportedly expecting their second child, has been put on administrative leave.

The ambulance firm is a private company contracted to the city, so Shaw is not a city employee.
