IN ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA, A SECURITY GUARD watching over the Liquor Barn beverage store noticed a stick poking out of the ceiling tiles and called the police.
The stick was actually a 2 x 4 with a coat hanger attached on the end and shaped into a loop allowing someone to fish for a whiskey bottle down on the sales floor.
Police caught and arrested the suspect outside the store climbing down from the roof with the makeshift fishing pole and his catch of four bottles of liquor. No, he wasn’t charged for fishing without a license.
