The initial call was for a “smell of smoke” and when the first-in engine arrived, nothing was showing.  Suddenly without warning the explosion occurred and literally lifted the fire engine from the pavement.

The 21-story building that houses about 1,000 people suffered severe damage and might not be able to be re-occupied.

Canada.com is quoting an official saying the explosion did not release any toxins into the air. Another advance in the science of fighting fires!
