A tank truck loaded with diesel fuel was transferring product into a smaller tanker at the time and the man was on top of one of the trucks when a sudden explosion took place.  Along with the heavy concussion force, there was a large fireball and a lot of smoke floating around, but no fire except a small trash fire set nearby.

When neighboring storekeepers ran to the scene, they had trouble finding the victim because of the smoke, but he was soon located laying near one of the trucks.  He was already dead and completely burned.

His wife and 21-yr.-old daughter were working inside the office of the family-owned business and went into immediate shock.

The fire officials are puzzled as to what caused the blast because diesel fumes are not easily ignited.

The Melbourne Herald Sun has the STORY.
