THE TENACIOUS AND DESTRUCTIVE WILDFIRE IN ALBERTA PROVINCE is still traveling and threatens to double back on the town of Newbrook for a second time. So far, two homes in the tiny community have been destroyed by the fire which now covers more than 10 sq. km.
Three air tankers and three helicopters are being used to try and control the Newbrook fire.

More than 230 firefighters from throughout Alberta and British Columbia are working the prairie fires that are being whipped along by persistent high winds. Two forestry fires in the northern part of the province have been contained, but a third is still burning out of control near Manning.
